"One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches. The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy, and I mean, he was being really friendly! So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so......Love the people who treat you right, and pray for the ones who don't!
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it. Have a garbage-free day!"
I just had to share this with you all! I thought it was pretty great and so true! I got this cute little story from the Tremonton Senior Center when I sang over there last Friday. The director always gets up and shares a little saying or story, and this is what she shared that day. I loved it so much, I asked her if I could get a copy of it.
I know I could learn a thing or two from this. I tend to be extra-sensitive and take things personally at times. I have become better with this over the years, but I am still sensitive. After reading this, I know that I should brush things off a lot more. Just let it roll off my back. I think a lot of us tend to take things personally. But that taxi driver is right on when he said that there are a lot of miserable and unhappy people out there just waiting to dump on someone. I sure do know people like this in my personal life, as well. People that have been thorns in my side for a lot of years, and it all chalks up to them being unhappy or insecure. It is not my problem. It is theirs. To all you happy and secure people doing good, keep doing what you are doing and move on.

Today, I had Tuesday tea with my mom. I love doing that. It gives my mom and I a chance to get together and catch up. Today has been an easy-going, yet productive day. I look forward to teaching Zumba at the church tonight! That always tops off my evening. Tonight we have a new routine called "Rumba." It's a fun salsa dance with some Reggaeton moves that will surely be a crowd pleaser. Can't wait to try it out! Then Thursday I should have a fun Samba ready to the tune "All the Single Ladies!" Wa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh! I've got some pretty fun choreography coming up here. Even a fun dance to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." Oh how I love the 80's!
