Well, I went to the Dr. this morning, and he took x-rays of my foot. Turns out I have a stress fracture in my left foot, along with a nasty heel spur. He told me I need to stay off of it for at least a week. *sigh*
This is going to be tough. I really hate sitting around. But I want my foot to heal so I can get back to teaching Zumba and being productive with other things.
He said he sees a lot of stress fractures in people who exercise a lot. I have actually felt that heel spur for a long time, but I have been ignoring it. I need to really invest in some good shoes with some good arches. I have to face reality and see that as I age, my feet really need to be taken care of. Also, since I have been eating clean, I have cut a lot of dairy out of my diet because of my stomach. But I need to get another source of calcium because I think my bones are paying for it. Not good. This is quite frustrating!
When I came home, I ate a little something for breakfast, and within minutes of eating, I became nauseated. The breakfast did not stay down and I was sick for a few hours after. No need to write out a menu plan for today because I can tell you exactly what I ate all day long. I woke up and drank my water and tea, took my son to school, went to the Dr., then came home and tried to eat some oatmeal. No luck with that. The rest of the day I sipped green tea and water. Blah.
One thing for sure, I will still exercise. I may not be able to do Zumba, but I do have a Pilates dvd and a gym membership, and I will go to the gym and ride the stationary bike. There are lots of other things I can do. Now is a time to work on upper body strength, too.
Time to sign off and get some rest. May tomorrow be a better day!
